Lowell Pawn has been in business for over 29 years. We are a full-service Pawn Shop. Thee present ownership structure began in 2006. Our CEO, Christopher McCarthy, PE, was educated and employed as a professional mechanical engineer for over 30 years. His philosophy was to use his education and employment in corporate America and bring those processes and procedures to this business. As with every business, networking is an integral part of remaining on the leading edge, We have been a long-standing member of both the Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, Lowell Downtown Business Forum and the Greater Merrimack Valley Convention and Visitor Bureau. In this way, we can understand and adapt to local issues. Lowell Pawn is committed to effecting permanent and positive change in the lives of the residents of Lowell and the immediate surrounding communities. We focus on helping economically disadvantaged individuals and families. Our store has a Children's Book Corner where children and parents are encouraged to read and take home books. We have donated thousands of books to our customers children. To stay aware of of industry trends, we also belong to several national organization. We are a proud member of the National Pawnbrokers Association (NPA). The NPA encourages giving back to the community and offers guidance to pawnbrokers on how to get involved. Pawnbrokers are also realizing the benefits of becoming active in city government. Educating city and state officials about the industry and the customers served continues to be a worthwhile but challenging endeavor. In the end, to be successful we must provide lasting consumer benefits.
